The nearest distilleries to Auchendean are only 20 minutes drive away,
along the beautiful route of the B9102 on the north side of the River
Spey. Cardhu, Tamdhu, Glenlivet, Macallan etc. The Speyside Cooperage
where oak casks are repaired is also interesting.

The BBC television drama was filmed in this area, with
two locations visible from Auchendean - Glenbogle Station (actually Broomhill
Station the Strathspey Railway's northern terminus
which is just below Auchendean), and Abernethy Auld Kirk, next to Scotland's
oldest Castle - Castle Roy.

Speyside Way passes on the other side of the River Spey from
Auchendean. Its a long distance path from Buckie on the Moray
Firth, to Aviemore, with a spur to Tomintoul.
